Parsley Seedling, 80mm Net Pot, 8 pcs
Spacing Requirement
Plant parsley seedlings 20-30cm (8-12 inches) apart in rows spaced 30-40cm (12-16 inches) apart. Proper spacing allows for good air circulation and optimal leaf growth.
Harvest Period
Parsley is ready for harvest about 70-90 days after planting seedlings. You can begin harvesting outer leaves once the plant is well-established, allowing the inner leaves to continue growing for a continuous harvest.
Light Requirement
Parsley thrives in full sun to partial shade, requiring at least 6-8 hours of sunlight daily. In hotter climates, afternoon shade can help prevent leaf scorching. For indoor cultivation, provide 10-12 hours of light using grow lights.
Soil
Parsley prefers fertile, well-draining soil with a pH range of 6.0 to 7.0. Enrich the soil with compost or organic matter before planting to support robust growth.
Water Requirement
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water deeply whenever the top inch of soil feels dry. Mulching around the base of the plants can help retain soil moisture and regulate temperature.
Fertiliser Application
Parsley benefits from a balanced fertilizer applied every 4-6 weeks during the growing season. A nitrogen-rich fertilizer helps promote healthy, leafy growth. Avoid over-fertilizing, as it can lead to excessive growth at the expense of flavor.
EC and pH Monitoring (Hydroponics)
For hydroponic systems, maintain an EC range of 1.4 to 2.0 mS/cm and a pH range of 5.8 to 6.5. Regularly monitor and adjust the nutrient solution to meet parsley’s growth needs.
Pests and Diseases Control
Keep an eye out for pests such as aphids, spider mites, and caterpillars. Ensure proper spacing to prevent fungal diseases like leaf spot or powdery mildew. Use organic pest control methods or neem oil to manage infestations.
